Pink Mango is a Kigali-based sustainable garment manufacturing group founded by Maryse Mbonyumutwa, a self-described "Afro-optimist" entrepreneur. What started as an export-focused trading company has evolved into Africa's premier ethical manufacturing platform, employing over 1,500 workers—predominantly women—in Rwanda's Special Economic Zone. The group operates under the Ubuntu philosophy ("I am because we are"), prioritizing worker welfare through its Pink Ubuntu CSR arm while simultaneously championing African creativity through Asantii, a contemporary fashion brand that brings together designers from 12+ African nations. Pink Mango has attracted major European retailers and aims to position Rwanda as a competitive hub for high-end, ethically-made fashion on the global stage.
